Engineers trained in Germany are seen as experts in these technologies and are in high demand worldwide. These include roles with manufacturing firms relating to the servicing, testing, manufacture, sales, project planning, consultancy and marketing of electrical engineering components, equipment and systems. Other roles may involve the specification, procurement, testing and integration, as well as operation and maintenance, of components, equipment and systems with client firms and service providers. Additional non-technical subjects are designed to enhance the employability of graduates who will go on to work in teams and whose products must be able to compete on international markets. The wide range of employment areas requires an equally broad-based education in The mathematical and natural science principles necessary for technology-based subjects; Engineering principles of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science, as well as in-depth training in the core areas of electrical engineering: Electrical power engineering; Communications technology; Electronics.
Faculty of Electrical Engineering
Electrical and Computer Engineering is an interdisciplinary branch of engineering which combines a fundamental study in electrical engineering with computing. Many universities and other institutions world-wide are now offering courses or degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and it is increasingly recognised that the combination of electrical engineering and computer studies equips graduates with an excellent basis upon which valuable engineering roles in modern industry can be built. Apart from receiving a thorough grounding in both electrical engineering and computing, the Electrical and Computer Engineering student at UCT gains a foundation of understanding in physical science, advanced engineering mathematics, microcomputer technology and systematic engineering design. Electrical and Computer engineers may also become involved in diverse fields such as bio-medical engineering, machine vision, power electronics and machines, or signal and image processing.
The event offered a day full of knowledge sharing, and an opportunity for our students to experience the world of research in the EEE Department. Bilkent University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department offers a variety of courses and carries out a large number of projects on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. EEE Students completed their design projects solving real-world engineering problems, co-advised by industrial and academic mentors.
